Connecticut Division Achieves TS 16949:2002 Certification

Shelton, CT, March 28, 2006 – Precision Resource, Inc., a leader in the supply of precision metal components manufactured with the fineblanking technology, today announced that its Connecticut Division has achieved Certification of ISO/TS 16949:2002 compliance.

ISO/TS 16949 is a quality management system standard for automotive related manufacturing companies. ISO/TS 16949 is a process-approach methodology with a focus on achieving customer satisfaction. This standard follows the outline of ISO9001:2000 with added automotive specific requirements.

“The entire PR-CT team worked very hard to upgrade our operating systems in order to achieve compliance with the TS 16949 standard,” said Bob Domogala, Division Manager of the Connecticut Division. “We are confident that our customers will benefit from our continuous improvement efforts and the standard’s focus on achieving customer satisfaction and meeting all customer defined requirements.”

Located in Shelton, CT, the Connecticut Division specializes in the supply of complex components and assemblies using the fineblanking technology. The company markets its products to the automotive, electronics, power tool, and industrial markets primarily. The division also employs a wide array of secondary finishing technologies, including double disc grinding, fine-grinding, honing, and machining, in order to supply very tightly toleranced complete solutions to its customers.

Fineblanking is a high precision metal forming process used extensively in the automotive, heavy duty, electronics, medical, lawn and garden, and general industrial industries. This unique process creates parts with very tight dimensional tolerances, excellent flatness, and with very little variation form part-to-part throughout long production runs. These characteristics lead designers to specify fineblanked components for their most critical applications.

Precision Resource has seven production facilities in the United States and Canada. In addition to the facility in Connecticut, which also houses the corporate headquarters and the Tool & Machine Division, the company operates plants in Huntington Beach, CA; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Vernon Hills, IL; Mt. Sterling, KY; Cambridge, Ontario; and Kitchener, Ontario.
