Precision Resource

Fineblanked Automotive Components

A single vehicle may contain over 100 fineblanked parts—and Precision Resource’s components can be found all over the car. We produce BEV and ICE fineblanked powertrain components (including fineblanked transmission, fineblanked torque converter, fineblanked transfer case, fineblanked engine management, fineblanked turbocharger, and fineblanked fuel systems), fineblanked seating components, fineblanked safety components, fineblanked brake components, fineblanked axle components, fineblanked HVAC components, fineblanked exhaust components, and fineblanked general hardware components.

Fineblanked electric drive system components include fineblanked bus bar components, fineblanked thermal management components, fineblanked high voltage battery pack components, fineblanked metallic bipolar plate components, fineblanked fuel cell stack end plate components, fineblanked cathode and anode flow channel metallic plate components, fineblanked e-motor gear box components, fineblanked e-axle components, fineblanked motor target wheel components and fineblanked in-wheel motor components.

The Advantages of Fineblanking in the Automotive Industry

Safety, reliability, performance, and cost competitiveness are the requirements for all automotive components. Fineblanking’s ability to repeatedly and consistently manufacture high volumes of parts with very tight tolerances makes it one of the first choices for design engineers when choosing the right process for their components. Additionally, the use of rolled metal as the raw material gives fineblanked parts significantly more strength against wear and fracture when compared to powder metal components.

Secondary Finishing Processes for Automotive Components

While the need for many secondary processes can be avoided (when compared with traditional metal-stamping methods), we do offer a number of secondary fineblanked finishing processes as needed, including grinding, fine grinding, CNC machining, broaching, plastic over-molding, welding, assembly, forming, and honing.

Precision Resource has over 100 fineblanking presses in operation – more than any company in the world. We have production facilities strategically located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Slovenia, and China.

Critical Components

Critical Components

Fineblanking is an inherently precise metal forming process, making parts consistently to very tight dimensional and positional tolerances. These details are an integral part to critical component applications over an array of industries.
