Founded in 1947 as a small, family-run tool and die shop in the basement of his home, Al Teruzzi, a seasoned tooling industry veteran, established the Fairfield Tool Company. By the 1950s, having achieved success as a leader in tooling, Teruzzi envisioned a future where his expertise could be integrated with emerging technologies.

A New Era in Precision Manufacturing

The 1950s also witnessed the rise of fineblanking in Europe, a revolutionary metal stamping process. Recognizing that the precision of dies was paramount to the quality and complexity of fine-blanked parts, Teruzzi, along with fellow tooling expert Charles Polatsek, and fineblanking specialist John Weiland, established The Connecticut Fineblanking Corporation in 1969. This collaborative venture, leveraging their combined expertise and investments in specialized equipment, positioned the company to capitalize on the emerging U.S. fineblanking industry.

Building a Global Network of Excellence

The Company experienced steady growth after its founding, adding several new fineblanking companies strategically throughout North America, eventually unifying under the single name of Precision Resource. Prioritizing the needs of customers, Precision Resource expanded internationally to support automotive industry growth in Mexico in 2006, China in 2011 and Slovenia in 2017. A technical center was also established in Canada to serve as the centralized fineblanking tool building facility for the company.
