Shelton, CT – April 2, 2019 – Precision Resource, Inc., a leading supplier of precision metal components manufactured with fineblanking technology, is pleased to announce the opening of a new sales office in Gräfelfing, Germany near Munich.

The addition of the Germany sales office allows Precision Resource to support a growing presence in the European market, building upon the addition of the PR Slovenia production division in November 2017.  The Germany sales office will maintain Precision Resource’s dedication to meeting customer needs by providing the dependable service and close relationships that our customers rely on.

“As technological changes re-shape needs for the products and services we offer, it is critically important to stay in close contact with our customers.  Our tasks are to understand our Customers’ needs, to help solve those needs and to understand what it takes to be a part of their tomorrow” said Marc Pfister, who is Precision Resource’s Senior Manager for European  Sales.

Fineblanking is a high precision metal forming process used extensively in automotive, heavy duty, electronics, medical, lawn and garden, and general industrial applications. This unique process creates parts with very tight dimensional tolerances, excellent flatness, and with very little variation from part-to-part throughout long production runs. These characteristics lead designers to specify fineblanked components for their most critical applications.

Founded as Fairfield Tool Company in 1947, privately held Precision Resource has grown to one of the leading suppliers of fineblanked components in the world. Precision Resource also has a tremendous range of value-added finishing capabilities that enable it to provide completed components and assemblies to their customers. These capabilities include CNC machining, honing, grinding, fine-grinding, plastic over-molding, heat treating, automated assembly, and laser technologies.

Precision Resource operates eight production facilities located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, China and Slovenia.  All sites work in close cooperation and are supported by our Technical Center in Ontario, Canada.  For more information regarding the company, visit www.precisionresource.com.

Illinois Division Makes a Move

Illinois Division Makes a Move

Precision Resource, Inc. announced that it’s Illinois Division has moved to a new facility…

Precision Resource, Inc. announced that its Illinois Division has moved into a new facility at 700 Hickory Hill Drive, Vernon Hills, Illinois.

Customers and employees alike are excited about the new, state-of-the-art building. The Illinois Team had been evaluating alternative manufacturing locations after the acquisition of Chicago Fineblanking Corporation in 2001. Initially, the division looked at adding on to the existing building, but the cost of expansion plus the cost of renovating to meet both Precision Resource standards and customer expectations turned out to be almost as costly as starting over.

“So, that’s what we did,” Curt Krueger, Division Manager, summed up. “We looked all over northern Illinois for the ideal location. And wouldn’t you know we finally found it right here, in our own back yard.” The site of the new building is literally around the corner from the former division location.

Architects completed plans for a 60,000 sq. ft. addition and the renovation of an existing 30,000 sq. ft. building on the site, for a total of 90,000 sq. ft. Future expansion is also possible. Builders broke ground in July 2007, and a Move Strategy Team was assembled to plan a smooth move and transition to the new building. Customer requalification activity took place throughout the move.

“We’re all enthusiastic about this change; it’s a great building in a great location, and it really enhances our ability to meet our customers’ needs,” concludes Division Manager Curt Krueger.

PR Employess Planning at Meeting - PR Adds Technical Center

Precision Resource Adds Technical Center

Precision Resource Canada, Ltd., a leading supplier of precision metal components manufactured with the fineblanking technology, today announced that it has established a new Technical Center…

Precision Resource, Inc., a leading supplier of precision metal components manufactured with the fineblanking technology, today announced that it has established a new Technical Center at 10 Cherry Blossom Road, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, right next door to the Cambridge Plant, an existing production facility.

As part of a broad-based reorganization plan, production from the company’s former Kitchener Plant has been transferred to the Cambridge Plant and other Precision Resource facilities.  A core group of employees from the Kitchener Plant, including Division Manager, Kaveh Vafaei, are managing and staffing the new facility.  The Technical Center will design and build fineblank tooling for all Precision Resource production facilities and be the center of development for the company’s fineblanking technology.

“The Kitchener plant was a leased building that was not well suited to the new focus of the group,” company President Peter Wolcott said.  “The new building is purpose-designed to maximize efficiency and will be an excellent showcase for our capabilities.” In addition to housing a fully equipped tool room and a PATEC fine-cold-forming press, one 630 ton fineblanking press also will be installed there.  The fineblanking press will be used for tool trials, developmental projects and selected production jobs.

“Another advantage of our location is that many of the engineering offices of our key automotive customers are close by in Ontario and the greater Detroit area, so we are better able to support our customers on advance projects,” Kaveh Vafaei says.

Research and development will be another important facet of the Technical Center’s mission.  “The Technical Center will be an ideal incubator to develop important new processes and will help the whole company push the state of the art in fineblanking and other cold forming technologies,” states Corporate Engineering Director Mark Polatsek.
